And she WILL be a star... if not for singing, then for acting, or for both.

I think her performance was the best of the night. She owned that chorus. I wouldn't say it brought out the Elvis in me, but it sure did make my Shorty Long! (That's a joke for the band.)

Kellie Pickler gave the second-best performance, even though she couldn't quite reach that low note.

I dissent on Chris Daughtry. His performance bored me. And I must confess that I'm getting a little tired of his face. He's not wearing well over time, unlike Kat.

But I agree with you on Ace. I thought his singing was fine, until he went for the falsetto finish, which had me laughing out loud. Could it sound THAT different in person? What was Randy talking about? It didn't even sound in tune to me.

Mandisa HAD to yell last night, just to cut through the band. Taylor was okay, Elliott did a good job. Paris treaded water well enough, and I'm glad you caught that she straight-up igged Kenny Rogers's advice. You go, sistuh! Don't let no white cracker tell you how to sang! Except that he was right. But that don't matter! Umgowa! Black Power! Or maybe she just forgot...

Anyways...

I'm disappointed that hardly anyway reached for some "classic" country... in other words, songs I might've recognized. Somebody could've rocked "Help Me Make It Through the Night."

And I'm becoming intrigued by the snippets of dress-rehearsal footage at the end. Sometimes, apparently, there are marked differences in quality between dress and the live show. Taylor, for instance, seemed to be singing a whole octave higher in the dress rehearsal... and it was horrible! Whereas Mandisa seemed more comfortable and commanding in the dress rehearsal.

Who's leaving? I don't have a pulse on the fans, but I'll make this wild guess: it'll be a shocker. Either Elliott or Mandisa. How I wish it would be Ace, but like you say, Alan, all the little girls love Ace.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-1144252436842431662006-04-05T11:53:00.000-04:002006-04-05T11:53:00.000-04:00Read somewhere that next week si Queen. ?Skipped t...Read somewhere that next week si Queen. ?

Skipped this week entirely. Add a crew of singers that I'm kind of bored by to begin with to a theme I have no interest in and ....

Bring on RockStar.Tosy And Coshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11466315384515717261noreply@blogger.com
