I suppose we all shall see.

This note is for sr. As far as upgrading your DVD player, I have the normal DVD set and I have to say that I am amazed at how good it looks. I would have sworn it was HD (granted, I saw the show original in normal def). I play movies in my XBox 360 which I am guessing upconverts and all the rest, but I am now wondering why I ever considered buying a high definition player. The choice is yours, of course, but why not Netflix one of the episodes or something to see for yourself before you waste $500 on a Blu-ray player.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-43285044256314770702008-07-03T18:44:00.000-04:002008-07-03T18:44:00.000-04:00to Jon...the closed captioning is perfect on the D...to Jon...the closed captioning is perfect on the DVD set. I stayed up half the night watching it, I was so excited to get it. I got it for 32.00 on Amazon with free shipping, worth twice the price. The extras are a bit much, but better to have too many extras than none. We Mad Men freaks need more more more of everything! It's SWELL.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-84341867908680164252008-07-03T12:06:00.000-04:002008-07-03T12:06:00.000-04:00So the DVD showed up from Amazon yesterday. And while the packaging is clever and everything, it's incredibly impractical.

Not only is it hard to close, some tape meant to hold one of the discs in place ended up on the playing side of the disc. We think we got it off, but I'd rather take straight packaging that stands up under normal use than this novelty stuff every time.barefootjimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02619403344304134318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-64113420041583530812008-07-01T22:59:00.000-04:002008-07-01T22:59:00.000-04:00I am avoiding any potential spoilers like the plag...I am avoiding any potential spoilers like the plague, but I'm very glad to hear you're giving thumbs up to what you've seen so far of Season 2.Oaktown Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00811331454878606058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-266270034744817312008-07-01T19:10:00.000-04:002008-07-01T19:10:00.000-04:00Having watched all of season one in HD (and commer...Having watched all of season one in HD (and commercial free) via On Demand, I have to say that the Blu-Ray version may inspire me to bite the bullet and upgrade my DVD (or, alternatively, buy a PS3).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-19358953898538929082008-07-01T15:01:00.000-04:002008-07-01T15:01:00.000-04:00Heh, I like this line from the LA Times article: "...Heh, I like this line from the LA Times article:

"voters (academy membership is overwhelmingly male) chose to snuggle up to costar Christina Hendricks, who portrays the — ahem — sexually frisky office manager."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-56403469789266998762008-07-01T13:46:00.000-04:002008-07-01T13:46:00.000-04:00Any word on whether the DVDs inherited the comedic...Any word on whether the DVDs inherited the comedically inept closed captioning from the AMC broadcasts?Jon88https://www.blogger.com/profile/16908049871851563389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17517257.post-80744897974990181292008-07-01T13:12:00.000-04:002008-07-01T13:12:00.000-04:00LA Times is currently reporting that both January ...LA Times is currently reporting that both January Jones (Mad Men) and Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) did NOT make the Top 11 in the Best Supporting Actress category for this year's Emmys.

I'm stunned.
