Not that anybody should care...

... but the Emmys are on tonight. In today's column, I rant about the lameness of this year's nominations, talk about who got snubbed and who among the actual nominees deserves anything.

  1. Simple: Ian McShane not being nominated is total BS. that being said, 24 should get best series, best supporting actor and actress amd Keifer shouls FINALLY get the Best Actor award, simply for holding it all together and kicking ass for five years straight now.

PS: Again, SCREW HBO and Chris Albrecht and David Milch for giving up on Deadwood. If there is a hell for TV f'heads, then these folks will be there!

  2. McShane not being nominated is because McShane wasn't eligible. Deadwood didn't premiere until after the Emmy cut-off date. It'll be up for next year's Emmys (along with season three of Rescue Me; the show was nominated this year for season two).

  3. I'll be watching Deadwood and Entourage.

That Kiefer "Squinty" Sutherland was nominated and James Gandolfini wasn't tells me all I need to know about the Emmys.

  4. the Sopranos is over and hasn't been good since season 3 (the same thing can be said for 6FU, also). The only thing worth watching in the show is Edie Falco.

  5. The one pick I would bet the rent money on: best writing in a comedy/variety series to... "The Colbert Report." The truthiness will set you free.

Race loyalty has me rooting for Shonda Rhimes in the best drama writing category (for the "Grey's Anatomy" two-parter with that unexploded bomb in that guy), but I think Terence Winter deserves it for the season premiere of "The Sopranos."

  6. Loyalty to the woman who guest-blogs about the spelling bee every year on my site has me rooting for Shonda.
