Treacher: Yes, Carbonell was great in it, but I was amused that actor from Lost was in that scene, since Joe Carnahan was originally in line to direct M:I III, which went to J.J. Abrams in the end.
I'm extremely disappointed that Alpert won't be on Lost, but I blame Cartlon Cuse and Lindelof for inadverdently writing him into such a key character without locking his availability down.

Of course, as someone above said, Cuse & Lindelof are to blame here. For a show that used to have cast as "regulars" people that ended up appearing less than John Terry, "Lost" sure was stupid not locking Carbonell, as he seems to be an important piece of the show's mythology.
Now what? They go all "Doctor Who" and reveal that every 80 years the body of an Immortal needs to regenerate, and in doing so they introduce Adrian Paul as the new Alpert?
Well, for the past couple of years, Julie Bowen has been both a regular on "Boston Legal" and had a semi-recurring role on "Lost," which should demonstrate that confusion is unlikely.
Nina Tassler confused me. Wasn't she the love interest in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, making her 100 years old and fictional? Oh, fudge, it's so easy to confuse us simple-minded TV viewers. I sure hope I'll be able to figure out how to get the CBS on my color-box. Wow, what an insult.

He'll be freed up for Lost once Cane is cancelled . . . so give him a call mid-September, ABC.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can really recommend "Smokin' Aces," but Carbonell is very good in it, especially in his scene with another actor from "Lost."
