Seth offends, Amy confounds

From the tour blog: the "Family Guy" cast does a live script reading, and Amy Sherman-Palladino reveals the intended "Gilmore Girls" finish (but not really).

  1. Oh, man, I am so over Amy S-P going on about how upset she is that she wasn't part of Gilmore Girls last year. It's not like she got fired; she chose not to accept the deal, and it wasn't a bad deal. Her choice was what led her to not writing the end.

I wish she'd channel those energies into making Jezebel Jones funny.

  2. Yeah, but she wears cool hats. (See above.)

  3. those hats seem a little 1992 to me -- Blossom keeps popping into my mind.

Are they continuing with the laugh track / studio audience on Jezebel James? I saw the pilot and it just derailed it... plus the way they shoot it isn't even a trad 3-camera setup anyway.

  4. Cool must mean something different in New Jersey. Or maybe they don't photograph well.

  5. Bill, the way Amy explained it, the scenes at Parker's workplace are shot single-camera, without the audience, then shown to the studio audience in between the multi-camera scenes to record their reaction. No idea if sweetening is ocurring, but Amy seems perfectly happy with the situation.

  6. Alan, since this isn't the newspaper, how about sharing one of the offensive "Family Guy" jokes... preferably the one that elicited hissing?

    C'mon... pleeeeze...

  7. Hi! I agree with stevie in post #1. I thought that new showrunner David Rosenthal did a pretty good job in the last season, given what he was left with. Sure, the season wasn't perfect, but one can't say that for the final seasons of the Palladinos' tenure as well. I thought the series finale was the perfect send-off for the show, and it's all the more impressive given that, at the time of filming, it wasn't definite the show would end this year. I'm not sure ASP would have written a better finale. I think ASP did a peerless job in creating and running such a terrific show like "Gilmore Girls" for as long as she did, but I'm grateful to David Rosenthal for at least giving the show the closure for its many fans.
