I didn't know "D-girl" had become a derogatory term. It used to refer to the person who read the script first and decided whether or not to pass it on up the chain. Seems like a considerable amount of power to have, even for a low-level employee, I think.

ReplyDeleteDez, it's an insult if you refer to someone much higher up the food chain as one. Like when Christopher Moltisanti called Alicia Witt a D-Girl in that episode of Sopranos.

There was stuff in the panel other than Nina mocking NBC, but nothing especially newsworthy (again, one of the downsides of being a stable network is that your press conferences can be boring). If you care, Larry Fishburne's getting a new wardrobe on CSI.

I had always thought D-girl was a derogatory term. I, too, remember the Sopranos ep. where Chris calls Alicia Witt that name. I don't blame Nina, frankly. It was a lousy thing to say about her.
