Wow, the comments from 9:41 really makes it sound as if the bomb rebooted the timeline.
But the comment at 9:39 makes it sound like no reboot. "[Lindelof] wants to remind viewers who the characters used to be and then who they are now." I guess that's part of their genius. :)
Simplest guess: Alternate timeline OFF the Island, old timeline Losties ON the Island.
Thus we see the pre-Island versions continuing in the new timeline* (Sawyer is a jerk in prison?), while "our" versions are the same as S5 (Churchill Sheriff Sawyer).
*As well as all the dead characters presumably walking off 815 and living their lives - they aren't dead in that timeline. Well, at first anyway, if they are only back for a couple episodes!
It's funny when something is preceded by 'Simplest guess' and then goes on to use the phrase 'Alternate timeline.' What Lost has done to the concept of simple.
I agree that this is what the final season will be...however I just hope it doesn't end up being Final Destination: Oceanic 815.
So it was Bender I have to thank for crying like a baby when Vincent tries to follow the raft out to sea! I kind of thought so, given that he brings his own dogs to the set. You'd really need to be a dog lover to think of something so simple yet so heartbreaking. ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm bawling already!
ReplyDeleteThat midichlorian reference really cracked me up :-) Is it February 2 yet???

From 9:13, are we taking bets on the final image?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Jack's eye closing (either via death or sleep).
Carlton: "All your Libby questions will be answered." Damon: "No, they will not, but Cynthia will be back."
ReplyDeleteHA!
Sounds like a fun panel.
BF - I have been thinking that the show would end with an eye closing for a while now. Jack is as probably as good a guess as anyone.
ReplyDeletePart of me can't wait for February to get here, the other part doesn't want S6 to air, because I don't want the show to end.

ReplyDeleteLibby! That's great news.
ReplyDeleteAlso if people are still considering "Lost - Season 5" ==
Best Buy has it for $34.99 /Blu-ray/$19.99 regular DVD. I just noticed Amazon met that price.
I have no connection to either - I hope that is OK to mention. I was happy seeing a better price.
