Why is this press tour different from all other press tours?

I fly out to press tour today and should, depending on the kindness and competence of my airline carrier and the vagaries of LA traffic, make it to the hotel in time for the final session of the day, for HBO's "True Blood." Hopefully, I'll have something to blog about by tonight; if not, look for something by lunchtime Eastern time on Friday. (Tour sessions don't start until 9 a.m. Pacific most days.)

In the meantime, over at the NJ.com blog, I've posted an expanded version of my traditional guide to press tour. It's quite long, so if you know what's what with the tour, I'd suggest skipping ahead to the section on how the July '08 tour might be quite different from its predecessors.

(Pictured above: the cast of "Studio 60" at their press tour session, still happy and optimistic. Those were the days.)

How effective do you think press tour is in promoting these shows? Tv diehards like me will follow the coverage, but I already know just about everything there is to know about these shows anyway. The average person, though, knows a lot less and will probably be totally oblivious to the press tour coverage too.

I've seen every sports night episode at least 5 times and I can't place that quote (and it's killing me), what episode is it from

The episode is Napoleon's Battle Plan.
From tv.com
Gordon has proposed to Dana, and Casey is seething, but tells Dan he plans to "take the high road' and follow Napoleon's Battle Plan: Show up and see what happens next. Dan reminds Casey that Napoleon lost at Waterloo and died in exile, and announces his intention to "step in".
So Dan tells Natalie about Gordon's fling with Sally. Natalie runs straight to Dana, who confronts Gordon who, in turn, tells Dana about Casey's fling with Sally. Then Dana confronts Sally, who reveals she has been sleeping with Casey for months.

With TV having an even bigger presence than ever at this year's Comic-Con - the roster is no longer limited to just the "genre" shows, but to more traditional stuff like "The Office" - my guess is there's going to be even more, "Oh, we're saving that announcement for Comic-Con," and this time, no amount of TCA complaints will change anyone's mind.

No wonder the damn thing sold out on Friday & Saturday before the programming was even announced. BAH.
