...if you're going to be in New York on September 6 and want to play a roll in re-creating Ferris Bueller's triumphant parade performance, click here.
(At this rate, I may have to start doing regular posts on both "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and kids' jokes.)

I thought Ferris was in Chicago?
True, but it's possible for people in other cities to love Ferris, just as it's possible for Lebowski-fest to take place in cities across the country.
"Role" not "roll." I'm assuming. Unless people are expected to tumble down hills or something.
This sounds like so much fun; I wish I could be there. I really want to know who's going to perform the backflip over the crowd. One of my closest friends starts laughing a good two minutes in advance of it every time we watch this movie. I don't agree with Ben Stein on much, but I'm totally with him that "Ferris" is one of the most life-affirming movies ever.
I never got the appeal of FBDO. Even as a kid, I wanted Rooney to get smug Ferris. He was also the funniest character, but got so little screentime. That would never happen these days. I love the school-set opening, right up until they steal that sports car. The actual day off? Snore. A very overrated movie.
Back in 1986, I took date after date to see this movie, hoping they'd think I was as cool as Ferris.
Unfortunately, they all had me correctly pegged as Cameron.
While this is a cool idea, I think it sucks because the city of Chicago was the backdrop for this film. Wrigley Field, the Art Museum, The Sears tower etc. Why then do you have this recreation in NY? Just more of that East Coast bias. WOw, that makes me sound really mad about the whole thing. Must be time for my medicine.
I invoke location copyright! Are they going to get a cheerleading squad to dress in orange and re-create the Calder? This was filmed in the shadow of the Monadnock. You have a gorgeous lakefront highway to tool down, Nighthawks, Sunday Afternoon?
It's not the Sausage King of Soho, it's the - oh never mind...
I am so there! Thanks for the tip, Alan!
@filmcricket: with my shape, I could probably play a kaiser roll.
