These kids today

So I haven't watched "Entourage" yet, but will be reviewing "Conchords," "Kill Point," "Doctor Who" and maybe one or two other things later this morning. In the meantime, today's column looks at the ginormous audience for "High School Musical 2," plus very brief reviews of HBO's "As You Like It" and Fox's "Anchorwoman."

The Kill Point is better than it has any right to be. Not wild about the A-Teamesque gun battles or getting rid of Tobin Bell way so soon, but it keeps you guessing.

Er, way TOO soon. Oh and... "Horst Cali"???

I have to say, Zac Efron's "Bet On It" routine? A gloriously hysterical camp moment, a cross between Luke Skywalker in "Return of the Jedi" and emo Peter Parker's dance in the street in "Spidey 3". Just... classic TV. (LOL)

(Yeah, what can I say? I love Kenny Ortega.)

I was a bit disappointed in HSM2 because HSM was fun and a lot of this seemed like a retread. Also, I started to think too much and got annoyed with Gabriella because she didn't do much and was getting in the way of Troy's college plans. So I am not the target demographic, but this one also seemed more focussed on Zac Efron and less on the rest of the cast.

I second the hilariousness of the "Bet On It" routine, the song didn't make much sense in the plot, but nothing can beat that creepy reflection of Zac Efron in the water... it may scare the children, at least those not old enough to be completely in love with him. I also saw a bit of Kevin Bacon Footloose in that too. This is a great movie to MST3K.

Now I just want to make sure that my tv isn't wonky, but I think Zac was really orange right?

I heard today that Zac is going to star in the filmed version of the musical stage production of "Footloose" (sort of the same thing that happened with "Hairspray").

A couple of my friends stayed home Friday night to watch HSM2 (and loved it). They're no longer allowed to tease me for being the uber-Disney-geek, heh heh heh.

Well since he already looked like Kevin Bacon he will probably do a good job. I just hope that the hard core religious town folk are against rock music and self-tanner.

Oh yeah, he was definitely orange. When I saw him in HSM2 I instantly flashed back to the bimbos who got burned to death in the solarium in "Final Destination 3".

Overall though, I really liked it. I don't know that it was better than the first, but I'd say it equally amused me. And I loved that essentially the star in this one was Sharpay, who wasn't really doing anything in the first film. And that's for the best, because Tisdale is by the far the most charismatic cast member.

So, is the next one really going to be straight-to-cinema?

I heard that too. Leave it to Disney to know how to turn a cash cow into a herd.

Anyway, I just had to share this site regarding His Orangeness.

Ignoring the comment about Luke Perry (:P), I just loved the whole concept of someone starting a blog dedicated to Zac Efron's tanning. Amazing! (LOL)
