No new column today, as I'm getting hard-core into watching final versions of pilots and, in some cases, second episodes. (For "The Class," which took a significant leap forward in episode two, this was a good call by CBS.)
"Wire"-heads should look for my review to be posted promptly at 10 p.m. on Sunday, and I also hope to do one final round-up of my favorite new shows by sometime early next week.
In the meantime, did anybody subject themselves to the two new Fox comedies?

Missed the comedies because I was packing for a trip. Also gave up on Justice. The second ep was too dumb, even for me. Sorry, Jack Bristow! Please don't "disappear" me! :-D
I'm glad to hear The Class gets better in later episodes, since it's got a really fine cast and decent premise.
And Justice remains a decent procedural with a little too much Bruckheimer-ism in it--the camera angles, swooping shots, and the "yes, you're an idiot" explanatory titles.
Damn, half the time while watching Justice I was frustrated by how dumb it was. It wasn't the plot itself, but the ridiculously overexpositionary dialogue that felt as if the characters were explaining to us every last detail of their thought, of the plot, of their feelings...! As Rory Gilmore would have asked, "Maybe Tony Kushner wasn't available...?"
It's still enjoyable, though. And it had Amanda Seyfried which is always a good thing for a show.
I watched the two comedies. It's always worthwhile to at least check new shows out once, and not depend on somebody else to make the judgment call for me.
So in that respect, watching 'Til Death' and 'Happy Hour' was worthwhile. But I don't see myself doing so again!
