Quick "Wire" question
How many people here, if any, are going to be watching each episode a week early via HBO On-Demand? (The season premiere is already available there.) I had planned, like Matt, to run my reviews on the night of the first HBO broadcast, but I want to at least consider the possibility that a lot of people will have seen the shows days earlier.

One person here who will be watching it early. Comcast makes me pay for digital cable just to get HBO. I may as well get my money's worth. Loved the first episode. Though it really covered a lot of ground. They make no effort at all to make it easy for new viewers, do they? I guess it wouldn't be "The Wire" if they did.
Don't you think it's unfair that HBO is dividing into the haves (HBO On Demand) and have-nots (DirecTV)?
I watched the first episode last night. If The Wire was in HD, I might wait until Sunday, since Comcast On Demand doesn't show HBO material in HD, but since it's 4:3, I'm there on Mondays.
I will be waiting until the Sunday broadcasts and will NOT be watching on HBO-on-Demand.
If Time Warner NYC gets its act together and puts the episodes up on HBO On Demand on Mondays, I'll be watching as soon as possible. I don't mind waiting for the reviews, however - it gives me an incentive to rewatch on Sunday nights.
I'm watching them OnDemand..and loving every minute of it.
I plan to wait until it's broadcast. I'd like to watch in HD, but I hate the waiting.
I watched in on On Demand last night, but I don't know if that will be typical for the season.
Loved the episode, by the way. If the show were in different hands, I'd say we were in for some major preachiness out of Prez's storyline, but I have the utmost confidence in the Wire guys.
I'll be watching early. My Time Warner provider didn't offer the episode until Tuesday. I thought it was great.
I already pay Comcast $200 / month. I'll just wait the extra six days and watch it on regular HBO. Somehow, I see DirectTV in my future. :-)
Our cable company doesn't offer HBO On-Demand, so I'll be watching on Sundays.
I'll probably watch as soon as I find the episodes on HBO-On-Demand. I'll be happy to wait for the review until HBO runs the show on Sunday.
(Don't get me started about Time-Warner. Three supervisors tried to convince me that there was nothing wrong with their having only episodes four and six of The Corner available.)
When the clock strikes 00:00 Monday mornings I am right there to watch the new episode.
