Buy my book! 'The Revolution Was Televised' is coming out

Updating the old blog for the first time in a while, just in case anyone comes here and is somehow unaware that I've written a book, "The Revolution Was Televised: The Cops, Crooks, Slingers and Slayers Who Changed TV Drama Forever," which looks back at the last 15-odd years of TV drama through the prism of some of the best, most important shows in television history: "The Sopranos," "Oz," "The Wire," "Deadwood," "The Shield," "Lost," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "24," "Battlestar Galactica," "Friday Night Lights," "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad." It's part critical analysis, part history, featuring tons of new interviews with people like David Chase, David Milch, David Simon, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and more.

The book is already for sale in paperback at Amazon, through Amazon's Kindle store, as an audiobook, for iBooks, for Barnes & Noble's Nook and for Kobo. You can find much more information about the book at alansepinwall.com

I hope you like it. It's a book born out of the writing that started on this blog, so I couldn't have done it without you. If you have any additional questions, you can write to me at sepinwall@hitfix.com

Do you already have an ISBN?

I assume "Buy my book!" is a reference to Jay Sherman's talking life-size cutout?

Will it be available on Amazon.ca or Book Depository?

It's self-published through Amazon, which means they sell it, yet for some reason, Amazon.ca isn't one of the distribution outlets for either the Kindle or paperback versions. I know some people have ordered the paperback from the US Amazon store and paid extra to ship it across the border. Best I can suggest, I'm afraid.

I just bought one. I've been loving your The Wire commentary, am even watching the whole series a second time just so I can read your Veteran posts :)

Buffy and Breaking Bad are my ultimate favourites, so as soon as I read that you wrote a book about all my favourites, I jumped on Amazon and bought immediately. Now I have to work out if I should watch Sopranos before reading your book!

Mr. Sepinwall;
I'm a long time fan of yours and recently DEVOURED "The Revolution was Televised". I couldn't have loved it more. In fact, I'm such a devotee, I'm making my students read it the grad-level class on TV I'm teaching this semester at USC. (I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you same...?) Here's the rub; my students apparently can't get a hold of the book. Unless they buy the e-book, hard copies seem to be impossible to come by. Any suggestions? (And oh; hurray for your wild success!) And yes, I'm as shocked as you are that 25-year-olds even KNOW what an actual, bound book is.

J, The original version of the paperback has gone out of print while we wait for the Touchstone version to come out later this spring. Shoot me an email and I may be able to help you out.
