Ask, and ye shall receive...

From an HBO press release that just went out:
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17, 2007 - HBO has renewed the hit comedy series ENTOURAGE for a fifth season and FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS for a second season, it was announced today by Carolyn Strauss, president, HBO Entertainment.
Currently debuting new episodes back-to-back on Sunday night (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), both series conclude their current season Sept. 2, and will return with new episodes in 2008.

"ENTOURAGE is a full-fledged cultural phenomenon, and FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS has quickly become a show to watch," said Strauss. "I'm delighted that we'll be bringing new seasons of these distinctive series to our subscribers."

Me so happy. Me want to cry. ('Bout the "Conchords" half, anyway; I'll deal with the continuation of "Entourage" if it gives me more Bret and Jemaine.)

Is there really any way that Entourage could be labeled a "cultural phenomenon?" Silly hyperbolic publicists.

Now that is being more constructive with their feedback. Kudos to HBO for giving me something to watch next summer.

Oh, thank God they renewed Entourage! There are just so many more stories yet to delve into with these wonderful characters.
Maybe next year, the guys will try to have a party of some kind and Drama or Turtle will make things dificult somehow. My God, the possibilities are endless!

Will somebody check on Mel and make sure she hasn't exploded?

Thanks.

Some things she knows and some things she doesn't know.

That's good news about Conchords, even though I'll soon be without HBO and won't get to see the last episode of this season let alone the second season next year.

Yeah, I find the "cultural phenomenon" appellation WAY over the top. Entourage is so stale, with each episode differing little from all the others, even the celebrity cameos are second and third rate. None of the characters have grown an emotional inch and the Ari Gold schtick is Ari "Old". If that's what Hollywood is really like, I'm putting my screenplay back in the sock drawer. Oh, who am I kiddin'? I'd sell out in a SECOND! I'd just leave my friends back at home!

J. sterling, I agree. I don't get the "Entourage" love at all.

Speaking of HBO, I just saw that The Wire's 4th season will probably be released on time for the Christmas holidays. Could this means that HBO plans to broadcast the final season in January?
