TBS renews My Boys

Quite the week for cable renewals, now with the news that TBS has ordered a third season of "My Boys." (This should once and for all, I hope, explain that the first two batches of episodes were part of one season and not two separate seasons. Man, I hate cable "seasons.")

Like season two, it'll be only 9 episodes, and is set to debut sometime in early '09. I wasn't that happy with most of last season, but I still like hanging out with these characters.

This sums it up for me, too. Hopefully, they'll be able to recapture the fun of season one.

More Dr. Brando, less Andy-almost-cheating-on-his-wife.

I suppose I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed last season and it actually hooked me.

I am glad the show got renewed by why does TBS keep giving them only nine episodes? It seems like they were given just a few more episodes they could make a much better story arc. I guess beggars shouldn't be choosers.

Amen!

9 episodes is absurd.

I want like 24 and a real, full-sized season.

Is 10 items getting a renewal?

I'm a childhood friend of John Lehr and still hoping he gets an ideal showcase for his talents

Ditto that. I wasn't too impressed with Season 1 but I really enjoyed Season 2. Very happy there is going to be a season 3!

Seriously, why only 9 episodes for a show that obviously has a following? Even two sets of 9 episodes a year - spring and fall - would be better than one batch every summer. It sucks having to wait so long for them!

I thought that season 2 was shortened due to the strike, but it doesn't seem like that's the case, reading what everyone else has written.

Anyhoo, I agree with Alan. I wasn't thrilled with last season (I feel it's lost its charm a bit, and became somewhat of a generic comedy), but I'd still like to hang out with the characters.

Best birthday gift I've received so far! Glad to know it will continue.... although I'm really not sure where it's going

This show is TERRIBLE. First of all, these people would never be friends in real life. Secondly, oooh, a girl who likes sports and is friends with a bunch of guys. How edgy. LAME.
