TCA: 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' to continue covering Gosselins 'with great care and thoughtfulness'

Over at NJ.com, the president of TLC makes a statement about "Jon & Kate Plus 8" so we won't waste time asking questions about "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

Alan, I don't mean to be rude, by when even lend your credibility to crap like this? It is the lowest of a really low category.

"Jon and Kate have never said they were perfect, which has made them relatable,"

feel free to tell Eileen that J&K are in no way "relatable" anymore.

The Little Couple is nice, though. I liked the Hayes family a lot too.

God only knows why, but some people seem to be interested in the show I call 'Eight is More Than Enough', and since it did come up I guess Alan (and his editor) decided there was some news value attached. Even if it makes me think bad thoughts about putting a fork in my eyes.

Not eveyone feels that Jon and Kate + 8 is bad nor will everyone be boycotting the show and its sponsors. Just sayin'

I am choosing to believe that Alan simply posted this because he is at TCA and is being thorough. Otherwise, I hope we never have to read anything about Jon and Kate ever again. I am normally neutral about lifestyle reality shows in that people can watch them if they want, but there is so much obvious harm being done to these kids that this show really needs to stop now.

Why aren't there child labor laws to protect these children? Why doesn't a judge step in and take them into protective custody? It's obvious the adults around them -- parents and TV producers and PR people -- are not looking out for their best interests.

Little celebrities, famous for being famous -- imagine what a hit this show will be when they're teenagers. I'm already weary of what's to come -- the tell-all books and talk show appearances and news reports as we follow the children throughout their lives.
I've already deleted TLC from my remote; why isn't there one to delete all reports of this "family" from the rest of my life?

a great question to ask the government of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
hmm... maybe that's why, although Kate wanted to move somewhere "warm," they didn't move out of PA (though I hear Nevada's good if you don't want child TV labor laws...)

-----------

NOT just in PA - NATIONALLY!!! The SAME protections that children in CA and NY get should be nationally applied:

Trust funds
Time limits on filming
Limits on what is filmed (eg, unclothed or other pedophile material)
Onset tutors
Onset counselors

NATIONALLY IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP FURTHER EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN IN THE USA
