American Idol: Four more out the door
Over at NJ.com, I have an "American Idol" recap of who went home, as well as my speculation on who's safest going into the final semi-final week. Feel free to debate my assessment of the pecking order.

This comment is only half-serious, but they got rid of 1 Asian guy, and 3 African-Americans. Is American Idol being racist (Favoring a cute blonde in one case), or should we not care since they should all go home since they all STINK!
And again, the judges admitted that upon watching the performances back, they were too nice, since those performances were no good. What a mess.
flap: don't forget the two hispanic contestants that were voted off last week. Which means 6 of the first 8 eliminations were non-white contestants. Which leaves only Big Mike, Todrick, Paige Miles and Andrew Garcia ... and 12 white kids (or make that 11 white kids and Crystal Bowersox)
To be fair, all 4 of the black people could have went home the first week. It's not Idol's fault that they haven't been good this year. I liked Jermaine a lot in his audition, but he had two of the worst performances EVER these last two weeks.
Besides, American has actually got it right the first two weeks. The only questionable one was Joe Munoz (?) the first week. He didn't deserve to go.
I found the makeup of this week's dumpees a little weird as well -- especially since Michelle Delamor deserved to stay, in my opinion. She's gorgeous and a better singer than most of the remaining contestants, even if she did choose a lousy song.
I was actually a little surprised that Michelle was the one to go home. Granted, Didi is the best female SINGER this year, so they both should have stayed; but with the judges KILLING Didi for her performance, I thought SHE would be going home.
Here's my recap with thoughts:

I like Didi over Katie.
Also, AI is not racist. It's a show, an inantimate object...so it can't be racist.
It's a vote-driven show, so either the voters are making race-based decisions or, perhaps, voting off the singers they like the least.
Or perhaps American Idol is a system that disadvantages certain contestants based on race? I'm not saying I fully believe that, but race matters in American Idol the same way race matters anywhere in America. I mean, would Tim urban be able to keep slipping by if he didn't have all-American (read: white) good looks?
That said, these individual contestants absolutely deserved to go home, because none were performing at the level they needed to be. Its a shame, I loved John Park after his audition, but he had absolutely no clue what to be doing on stage.
@Patrick--It is worth noting that Tim Urban has been tapped by Vote For The Worst, which has almost certainly been part of why he's stayed on. Then again, VFTW also picked Haeley Vaughn, who is black and didn't muster enough "serious" votes--so there may yet be truth to your point.
