Sepinwall on TV: Edwards returns to 'ER,' 'Top Chef' moves to NY

In today's column, I talk about tomorrow night's Mark Greene resurrection on "ER" and how it does no favors for Angela Bassett, and briefly preview the season premiere of "Top Chef."

"er" is still on the air?

Sorry to go off topic, but I take it you've given up on Fringe? Not that I'd blame ya, just wondering.

In my mind, my name for "ER" is "Who ARE These People, Anyway?" I've tried to watch it a few times in the last few years and I just couldn't get into it.

Nah. Watching the episode on Hulu right now. May not have time to write about it for another day or so.

Andrew mentioned the return of another former character whose identity I've been asked not to mention (though it was in TV Guide at some point), but all I'll say is I was much happier with this final appearance than the original final appearance.

Glad I didn't read the mail.
(and thanks for the deletion, though I shouldn't be in this thread at all.

My husband loves Top Chef, so I watch with him, but I have to say it has never made me hungry.

Diners Drive-Ins & Dives, now, THAT show makes me hungry. Yum. (Just goes to show how unsophisticated my palate is...)

I second the hunger-maker that "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives" is as a show. However, I would also nominate Guy Fietti (spelling?) for the most gratingly annoying personality on Food Network if not the entire television land. The dude is 40+ and has spiked bleach blond hair, constantly wearing Hawaiian shirts, wears his white sunglasses on the back of his head, a sweatband around his forearm, and talks like a skater from the early 90's. Just the desperation of a man nearing mid-life crying out "I'm still cool!" wafts off the television and almost puts me off the hunger that all the delicious burgers created.

Chris, dude, Guy is totally AWEsome and RAD and you are just jealous ;)

Seriously, though, I rather like him and his enthusiasm and am unbothered by the surfer/skater trappings.

First thing that came to mind when I saw the picture: did Haleh lose all that weight while Mark was still alive, or after he died?

Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives: if I had a spare month or two, I'd drive around the country and hit all those places. As good an organizing principle for a road trip as any....

Sorry about my previous comment. I'm surprised NBC is trying to keep a lid on other character returns considering that there's a behind the scenes video on the NBC page that gives it all away anyway.
