From Jan:I LOVE Ricky Gervais. He's absolutely one of the best talk show guests ever. Whether it's on The Daily Show, Graham Norton, or Actor's Studio, he's always very funny. And I can't remember which show it was, but when he was talking about his mother's funeral, it was laugh out loud funny.
Oh my goodness. I want the tape!! There has to be more, right?
The only problem with Ricky Gervais (maybe more for UK fans) is that he trots out the same anecdotes and jokes in nearly every interview. I don't think Americans have realized this yet, but for anyone who's seen his live shows, heard his radio shows, etc, you can almost mouth along to his appearances on Letterman, etc.The Elmo thing was pretty funny, tho. I would have thought the Muppet team wouldn't have allowed some of the riskier jokes to make the edit. Didn't Jim Henson always say you had to treat the Muppets like real people and not poke too much fun at their reality, like Gervais does here? You do know that Miss Pigg's costumers aren't allowed to see the puppet naked, so put her clothes on behind a screen, yes? And the Muppets (when stored away) are put on special string pulleys, so when you open their cupboard, they all appear to turn and look at you. All true.
Quick question. What does "h/t" mean? I've been seeing it everywhere.Thanks.

Well, he did tell Elmo he was the only person there not getting paid."It's called acting, Mr. Gervais. Acting!"
