Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. The only TV watching I'll be doing today will involve football (and wondering why half my fantasy team is playing this afternoon and evening), but for those of you near your computers and in need of some more Thanksgiving-specific programming, I give you the legendary "WKRP in Cincinnati" Thanksgiving episode over on Hulu. And YouTube has the classic "Cheers" Thanksgiving episode in these three parts.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Thanks Alan for hosting my favorite TV web site. I have been reading your stuff in the Ledger since the 90s. Thanks for the hours and hours of information and entertainment!

Happy Thanksgiving, Alan.

And a great big "ditto" to what srpad said. Reading your comments and reviews deepens my enjoyment and understanding of what I watch.

Thanks for all the awesome blogging & columns.

Alan, thanks so much for your scintillating blog and especially for the link to the WKRP episode. As much as I love many of the current comedies, I think this Thanksgiving episode is my favorite and funniest 30 minutes of all time, barely surpassing the Mary Tyler Moore's "Chuckles the Clown" episode. Even my young son laughed heartily throughout the show, without getting the Hindenburg references.

To cap it all off, I'm going to watch the 1987 classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

There's also "Broadway Danny Rose," "Avalon," and the underrated "Giblets for Murray" episode of "Mad About You."

Happy Thanksgiving, Alan and everyone!

I always thought the Thanksgiving episode of Just Shoot Me (Season 5: The First Thanksgiving) was the best episode they ever had.
I've got it on tape around here somewhere...

Rick, I'd forgotten about that one! It's probably my second favorite "Just Shoot Me" ep right after the Nina's A&E Biography one: "Nina Van Horn: Trouble Be Thy Name"

Yes, I am most definitely thankful for this blog, Alan. Thanks for making television more than just an escape. And happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and every one of my fellow commenters.

Also, I just got around to listening to Dave Dameshek's farewell podcast for ESPN from a couple weeks ago, and Jonah Keri was on there extolling the virtues of this blog. Good writing continues to appreciate good writing.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Alan. Your site has literally become an extension of my TV viewing. It just wouldn't be the same - or as enjoyable - without your reviews, and I thank you for that :)

Even though my Thanksgiving has already passed, I am still thankful for your blog.

Wow, the Mad About You episode! I can't remember a thing except that the turkey went out the window.

We watched Shibboleth and I watched bits of Pangs as I ran around doing stuff.
WKRP was offloaded from the DVR and is now lost in my brother's house.

I just discovered this website and am thankful that I did!
I enjoy reading these discussions here, too.

Thanks for that -- for almost as long as I can remember, "As God is my witness, I thought ______ could ______." gets *extremely* heavy rotation this time of year....
